We saw firsthand the effect admin burden can have on a person and on a team, so we set out to solve it.
Who We Are and What We Do
We are Lucia and Chris, the founders of Arlo. Lucia is a podiatrist who has worked directly with patients for years and understands first hand the pressure clinicians face every day. Chris is a software engineer who built Arlo after seeing how much time Lucia, and other clinicians, were spending on documentation. Together, we combine clinical experience and technical expertise to build practical tools that genuinely improve the way healthcare professionals work.
Something Had To Change
When Lucia and Chris opened Stride Foot and Ankle Clinic in Donegal Town in Ireland, they experienced the problem daily. Lucia loved helping patients reach their goals, but evenings and weekends were spent catching up on documentation. The admin load was affecting her and the wider team, both professionally and in their personal lives.
There Must Be a Way...
Before building anything, they tried multiple documentation tools. On paper, many looked promising. In practice, their integration with Cliniko was limited. Notes did not flow cleanly into patient records. Templates were rigid. Workflows felt disconnected from how real clinics operate. Instead of saving time, they often created extra steps.
Chris comes from a software engineering background and spent six years as a senior full stack developer. Seeing the strain that documentation placed on Lucia and her team made the problem personal. Together, they saw firsthand how heavy admin workloads affect individuals and teams, so they decided to build a better solution.

Introducing Arlo
In 2024, while still running Stride, they developed an internal tool focused on deep Cliniko integration, flexible templates, and real world clinical workflows. That tool evolved into Clinic Notes AI which has since become Arlo.
Lucia shaped the clinical structure, templates, and standards. Chris built the system architecture, security model, and integrations. The platform was designed to sync directly with Cliniko, pull relevant patient data, and push completed notes straight into the patient record without manual copying.

Our mission is clear. Help clinicians finish notes in minutes, reduce admin burnout, and protect clinical standards.What started inside one podiatry clinic in a small town in Ireland now supports practices across the world.
